Hi I have a question about reducing my 2in. Water pump to 1.5 inch what's wrong with reducing it at the high banker I just ordered the piglet and have 25 feet of 2in. Hose and don't want to have to buy another section of hose if I can just reduce it at the piglet what happens when I reduce it at the piglet do I end up with to much water pressure my hose is red layflat hose good up to 150psi

It should not be any problem .I don't know if the piglet has a valve on it or not .I would do it that way ,then u you adjust the water that way .And no you should not hurt the hose .That is the way I have my highbanker set up.

If you are using a slurry, or semi-slurry pump, there shouldn't be a problem. They only build pressure to about 40psi. Just idle it down some. If you are using a high pressure pump (used mainly for dredges) you could have a problem, as they can go up to 150psi.

Thanks for the response what hose would be recommended for dredging? 2in. And 2.5in. Any links to the best price?

Here is another thread that talks about that. This should have some good help. There was an article on here from Gold Hog I thought that had an extended discussion about that as well, but I couldn't find it.

Ok thanks but the kanaflex hose they are talking about the highest pressure rating I found was less than 100psi and I was just told I could have a problem with my 150psi hose

The problem with the high pressure lay flat hose is if you use a pressure pump and the hose has a kink in it, it will bust. I had the same hose and used with my northern tool 2 inch pressure pump (94 PSI) and did not notice the hose was kinked. It blew apart within seconds.
I now only use kanaflex or dynaflex hoses.
