Up where i'm at here in Maine i'm finding very fine gold to pin head size and have been running a configuiration of matts in here as well using UR, Razor, Razor at the end of the sluice it has a total length of 18" screen that goes from 117th " hole size to 1/4" to 3/8" now while in a good current and stream and maybe 1 1/2" pitch down hill I can move a 4 to 6" rock down the sluice easy.........those of you not familiar with a Thomas creek its a over and under where the heavies directly fall into a trap or series and bigger goes of the end of the screen looking for idea's of types of better matts for the job and placement or would it be wiser to use some type of V-matting? the type of material I come into a lot is very granular gravel loaded with garnet quartz mix with traces of black sand any type of suggestions i'm listening.........the standard set up is expanded metal and carpet
