I have a small stream sluice that I just acquired and am wondering if I should go with mats at the top and miners moss at the bottom, or mats all the way down? Any suggestions?

...Killer,

In the mid 70s, Miners' Moss with expanded was the newest and greatest system. It was devised through testing for those Yukon commercial operations that lost as much as 50% (YES, I said as much as 50% :o :o :o ) of their Gold to very poorly designed sluice box systems - just like their grandfathers used.

The old timers were working with 1800s technology because "That's just the way it's always been done."

Then along came Doc.

Gold Hog mats are so far ahead of 1970s technology that I can present a simple answer to your well presented question :

Go 100% Gold Hog mats.

Read all you can on the Gold Hog web site, as well as watching the videos, to learn just exactly which mats and set-ups work best for your situation and equipment. Hog mats need study to properly get that nearly 100% efficiency. The knowledge is there for those who want efficiency.

So, to say it again - 100% Gold Hog mats from top to bottom.

Joe

Thanks joe! I ordered razorback mat to start looking to add additional types but it gets expensive to order 3 feet to use 1 6x6 section. It's a small sluice , 6 inches wide and 3 feet long
