We cannot call this an "OFFICIAL" Gold Hog outing and right now it is in the early planning stage.
My wife and I will be at Gold and Gems, Cleveland Ga. June 6th thru June 8th. We hope to get several members of the forum to attend and show off some of their equipment. We live in West Texas so we have to plan this well in advance, it is a 17 hour drive but we feel it worth it to meet some of the nicest people on the forums. We do not have any particulars yet but we are working on a few ideas for this outing. We are working on a few ideas. If anyone has any ideas to make this a memorable experience, please post them here or PM me. As I said this is the very first stages of planning but the dates are pretty much set. If we can get enough people to attend we may be able to get a discount on camping and prospecting. Maybe if enough want it we may check into a catered dinner Sat. night.
I will be updating this as we learn more so please let me know if you would like to attend.
Michael

This sounds like a FUN time. This early I can't say 100% but it sounds doable for me.

Great, I know it is a little early but thats why I wanted to post this now, so people will have time to plan, I already have about 8 couples saying they will go, the more the merrier. We hope to have at least one of each GH unit there running so everyone can see them and have a chance to run them
I will keep this updated.

Claudia and I are making plans to join Michael and his wife for this massive gold recovery event, by using Gold Hog Equipment/Mats. I will be using a 1 1/2" Dredge Setup with Gold Hog Mats and Claudia has her own Sluice Box with Gold Hog Mats as well. Ya'll better not miss out on this experience, cause we plan on needing a dump truck to bring all the gold back to Texas, lol.
Hoping to meet "Doc" *The Brains* behind the Gold Hog Prospecting Equipment.

Hey Pure, Paul here from east point,GA (near atl), I hate to put a damper on things but have you checked out the price to run a highbanker at G & G lately? It's $95, yes $95 a day to run a highbanker now at Gold and Gems.
Alabama Gold camp is a much better deal, only $15 -25 a day depending on the size of your pump. 1.5"=$15, 2-2.5"=$20, 3" max size allowed=$25. A much bigger place with more areas to prospect. And it's about 3 1/2 hours closer to you than G&G.
Just wanted to let you know about the price change at G&G. Paul

Nodnor, I know AGC is much larger and cheaper than Gold and Gems however, since this is about gold hog products (hence the name "hogfest") I figure the closer to Docs the better chance of maybe meeting some of the Gold Hog Team. Also from all I have read and saw, there is better gold at G & G, plus there are many more gems.
If we get enough people for this, we may get a discount on camping and prospecting also. I have to ask Brian again once we are closer to the outing and we know more about how many people are coming. Perhaps our next outing we can plan on AGC.
I do appreciate the tip though and hope to see you at G & G

Two other options to consider are (1) GPAA chapter outing@ loud Mine which is just down from Gold and Gems ,or (2) A GPAA chapter outing@ the Buchanan lease if it is still open. I'm no longer an LDMA member but I know that they have had chapter outings there in the past, just got to dig your own dirt . Both options in Georgia and should be much less expensive. God bless ---K Rose.

I appreciate the input, however, this is NOT a GPAA outing, it is just a bunch of us prospectors who use and trust in Gold Hog units and matting. I chose Gold & Gems because of (1) the amount of gems and gold on the property (2) the fact that they are an operating gold and gem mine (3) the fact that they bring the same paydirt that they are running through their plant.
The prices for highbanking has gone up but consider this. That is where 90% of the gems come from. Many of these gems are cutable and worth quite a lot. The price for dredging is $10 per inch on nozzle size for ALL DAY. Very reasonable in my book.
I have talked to G & G and depending on the number of people attending, we may be able get a discount.
As a side note:(LDMA no longer allows GPAA outings on their property. Which is why you see no sponsored outings in the GPAA magazine. Many benefits are now gone from both GPAA and LDMA. It seems both organizations interests have turned from gold to green ($).)
